Tools 4 Teaching exists for one reason – to help teachers in our local classrooms.
Created in early 2009, Tools 4 Teaching takes supplies no longer needed by local businesses and organizations and transforms them into classroom learning materials.
Currently teachers, community volunteers, retirees and even students provide hours of assistance to teachers with their shopping.
Tools 4 Teaching, located inside the Public Education Foundation of Marion County in Northwest Ocala, is open to all full-time teachers working for Marion County Public Schools.
Teachers can shop once a month for needed classroom supplies – everything from pencils, paper, art supplies and much more.
- Over 23,420 teacher shopping visits
- Over $2,215,000 provided in supplies
During the colder months of the year, Tools 4 Teaching also provides coats for students in need. This program, Coats 4 Kids, collects new and gently used winter coats. Teachers and school staff may request a coat for any child who is in need of proper outerware to ensure they are warm enough at school, and on their way to and from campus.
